  1. I am sorry, but I did not know Mrs Blackwood. I am a member of the decendsants of Allison Haywood Blackwood and Annie Jane Pendergrass and they were both of the Mt Carmel – Chapel Hill area. I may or may not be in the same Blackwoow clan. Please accept my sincere condolencense.

  2. My great-grandmother was an exceptional woman, and I hope that all of us who survive her live as great a life as she did. I love you, Grandmommy, and I will miss you terribly.

  3. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family. I did not know Louise, but I work for her grandson Jon Kirkpatrick. What a blessing it was for her to live 91 wonderful years!

  4. As a member of John Kirkpatrick’s Asheville Police Department family, I would like to expess my condolences to the entire Blackwood family for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  5. I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I am Terri Hoeflein, Marye Elizabeth Blackwood Hoeflein’s daughter. 6. We enjoyed Louse and her husband’s company at family gatherings in her son’s home. In spite of her age, we always felt she was a comtemporary woman, grounded in family, church and community. Everyone will miss her!

  7. I’ve known Louise as long as I can remember. My mother, Eula Blackwood Williams had a beauty shop in our home, and Louise was there every week to get her hair done. I remember fondly the talks that I had as a youngster with Louise – and even working together on crochet projects. I probably had more friends who were over 60 (I was less than 15), but always enjoyed the stories they would tell me. My mother missed Louise terribly when she moved to Asheville. It was a blessing to call her a friend.

  8. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. She was a cherished member of Mt Carmel for many years.
