LowEldner Moss Thompson, best known as Lou, passed away unexpectedly early morning Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mission Hospital.
Lou was the daughter of the late Aud and Ellie Moss.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Scott Thompson of the home; one brother, James Lloyd Moss and wife, Martha Jean, of Canton; a nephew, David Moss of Canton; and a niece, Jamie Moss Ford of Concord.
Lou was retired from the U.S. Fire Insurance Co. where she worked as a service claims adjuster. After her retirement she worked in medical records with Appalachian Hall and later with Charter Hospital.
After retirement, Lou loved to talk to friends on the phone, work cross-word puzzles, and watch TV shows. She also liked to take all kinds of trips. She will be missed by the many friends she had known.
Lou never met anyone she didn't like. She was raised on a farm in Maggie Valley, Haywood County and attended Waynesville High School and Blanton's Business College.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
