Lynne Ruskin, 91, formerly of Woodside Hills, died Friday, December 21, 2012. Mrs. Ruskin was born January 23, 1921, and was a daughter of the late S.J. and June Truby Lisko. Mr. Lisko was a successful owner of six wholesale and retail clothing businesses in Youngstown, OH, and Mrs. Lisko was a well known published poet. She was a graduate of Syracuse University where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and she worked as a medical illustrator at St. Luke's Hospital, Cleveland, OH, the world renowned Cleveland Clinic, and Western Reserve University. While living in the Virgin Islands and Haiti, she authored two books, "Don't Get Bit by a Coconut" and "Voodoo Fantasy". She was listed in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who in American Women. In her art, Lynne brush painted with oils, utilized pellet knife techniques and also produced pen and ink drawings and water colors. She had many one woman shows across the world and produced more than 1000 paintings, many of which sold on the fine art market, and some of which remain with her oldest son, R.J. Hunting, who lives in Asheville. She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Stacy Ann Williams and a step-son, Robert H. Ruskin, Jr. She had lived in Asheville since 1980. Lynne's younger son, Ronald Howard Hunting passed away last month at the age of 65. Her late husband, Robert Ruskin was a corporate attorney and Federal Magistrate in St. Croix, U.S.V.I. Lynne had been a world traveler and loved the outdoors so her cremated remains will be scattered high in the Great Smoky Mountains, as she requested, becoming a free spirit!
