Machelle Delores Scavio, 62 of Arden, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the CarePartners Solace Center. Born in Poplar Bluff, MO, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delores Scavio.

Machelle is survived by her loving daughter Breea Porter (her husband Drew) of Fletcher, NC, her brother Joe Scavio of Poplar Bluff, MO and brother Trent Scavio (his wife Debra) of Hendersonville, NC.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the CarePartners Solace Center for the excellent care and compassion extended to Machelle during her time there.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 6:00 PM, Tuesday May 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The service will be streamed live starting at 5:50 PM on Tuesday via the window directly below her obituary on the Groce Funeral Home website.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org.

  10. May God hold you in his arms , Shell your already so very missed . Thank you for ALLthe fun times we had as teens , we got into some pickles, but we learned and laughed so hard. At times. Always together. I will treasure these times even more. Love you my friend.

  14. Oh Dee we had some good times over the years. Just us an the girls on our adventures an trips to Lake Lure an then just our times just us without the girls. I will cherish our memories. Until we see each other again my friend! Fly free! I love you ❤️

  15. Machelle, you were taken way too soon from us. I wish we hadn’t lived so far away from each other. Our visits were few but when we were together, it was like no time or distance had separated us. We have many memories that we shared. I always enjoyed visiting you when you lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania, then North Carolina. Then you brought this sweet child into our family that I adore. I will stay in touch with “our” girl and I will always be just a phone call away if she ever needs me. You’re going to missed you so much. Sending love to you and your parents who I miss dearly.   18. I can’t believe I have lost a long time friend. We lost touch. We were in the same business class at Reynolds high school and we kept in touch for 30 years. I always admired Michelle. I will miss her dearly
