Mae Burr Letterman

Mrs. Letterman was born in Haywood County, was a daughter of the late Silas and Flora Cook Kirkpatrick, and was married to Martin Thomas Letterman, who died in 1988. She was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life and was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and of West Asheville Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances Burdett of Atlanta and Jency Mills and her husband Jack of Columbia, SC; a granddaughter, Darlene Ortega and her husband Frank of Aiken, SC; a great-grandson Dylan Ortega of Aiken, SC; and a brother, James J. Kirkpatrick of Southfield, MI.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. James H. Johnson officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
