Marcella E. Brock, 81, formerly of Asheville, died Friday, August 6, 2010. Mrs. Brock, a native of Catawba County, was the daughter of the late Dewey F. and Thelma Elizabeth Moffitt Cline. Her husband, Willie Nathan Brock, preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Brock was a long time member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah M. Brock of Downey, CA, and two sons, Dewey G. Wooten of Tampa, FL and John C. Brock and wife, Laura, of Lexington; two grandchildren, Michele Long and husband, Robert and Tracy Lopez and husband, Dion; three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vivian Felker of Ruffin, NC and Eloise Hicks of Bryson City, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Wednesday, August 11, at Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Avenue. A graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Darren Browning officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of NC, 1920 W. First Street, Suite 5541A, Winston-Salem, NC 27104-4220.

    We are so very sorry that Marcella has died. Although we have not seen her since Nathan’s funeral, we remember all of you in her youth when she was at Aunt Ellie’s and at Brown’s View Church. Please know that you are in our prayers.
