Marcia Snelson Pearce

A native of Brevard, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Mollie Cantrell Snelson and wife of the late Joe R. Pearce, who died in 1992. She was a resident of Tavares, Florida and also resided with her niece’s family, Marsha and Ronnie Thomas in Candler.

Mrs. Pearce retired in 1974 from Southern Bell Telephone, beginning as an operator and working up to a supervisor’s position at the time of her retirement. She was a member of the Pioneer Club and attended St. George’s Episcopal Church.

She is survived by a sister, Mollie Snelson Ferring of Bradenton, Fla. and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Harry Woggon. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Brevard.

A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
