Fletcher, NC- Margaret “Marge” Ann Guzowski Kozacki, 76, of Fletcher, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn Guzowski. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wally.

Certified by the Library of Congress to transcribe books into Braille, and being honored as the recipient of the Womancare of the Year Award for Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in 1989, were among her proudest accomplishments. She was a guest on National Public Radio discussing “How to Live with Sjogren’s Syndrome”, and did Peer Counseling for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Marge had a contagious smile and a delightful sense of humor. She had a caring nature that always put everyone ahead of herself. Marge was blessed with a loving and determined spirit, and she touched the heart of everyone she came in contact with.

She was an active member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, NC serving as a Lector. She was also an important part of the funeral ministry, couples club, as well as other ministries.

Marge leaves behind her loving husband Walt Kozacki. They were grammar school classmates, sharing a friendship that led to a loving marriage of 55 years. She is also survived by many friends, cousins, and godchildren. A special thank you to Carol, Chris, Morgan, Rosanne, and Terry for their support and care.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at St. John Newman Chapel, 83 Englewood Ave., Buffalo, NY 14223.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marge’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Barnabas Church.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden, NC is assisting the family.
