Margaret Bowers Gill

Margaret Bowers Gill Asheville – Margaret Bowers Gill, a resident of Asheville and Richmond, VA, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at her residence in Deerfield Retirement Community at the age of 99. Mrs. Gill was born December 11, 1914 in Richmond, VA the daughter of James Baker Bowers and Louise Steel Bowers. She was a graduate of Westhampton University, an administrator for the American Red Cross and the Executive Director of the Virginia Society for the Prevention of Blindness. She was active and involved in charitable causes throughout her life. Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilfred Gill as well as her second husband, Jesse Tegethoff. She is survived by six nieces and nephews and their families, including Jeff Greiner and Beverly McArthur, both of Asheville. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the St. Giles Chapel of the Deerfield Retirement Community.
