Margaret Holbrook Long

October 14, 1918 ~ March 21, 1999

Margaret Holbrook Long, 80, of 145 Holbrook Rd., Candler, died Sunday, March 21, 1999 in a local nursing facility.

A native of Buncombe County she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nina Dalton Holbrook. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph E. 'Joe' Long who died in 1970 and a brother James A. Holbrook. Mrs. Long was a retired employee of American Enka with 25 years of service and a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, William 'Bill' Long; a brother John F. Holbrook and his wife Judy; a sister-in-law Hettie Holbrook all of Candler and a number of neices and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Norman Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
