Margaret Jeanette Ward

Margaret Jeanette Ward, 95, of Fairview, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Flesher's of Fairview Healthcare Center. A native of Iredell Co., she was a daughter of the late Edward Fletcher and Lola Byers Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Lee Ward, who died in 1979. She was a charter member of Arden First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She is survived by two sons, Fletcher "Fletch" Ward of Fletcher and Nathan "Nate" Ward and his wife, Susan, of Fletcher; one sister, Maude McNeely of Statesville as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2014 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend G. Scott Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park and the family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
