Margaret Rickett Shepherd

Margaret Guthrie Rickett Shepherd, 85, of 102 Middlemont Avenue, Asheville, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in a local health care center.

Mrs. Shepherd was born in Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late Oscar M. and Mamie Johnson Guthrie and was married to the late Charles B.
Shepherd. She was a member of Asheville Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Smith and Joy Evans, both of Asheville; a son, Eddie Rickett of Florida; two sisters, Hazel Garbee and Pauline Toliver and a brother, David Guthrie of Asheville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Chaplain Jane Curran officiating. Burial will be in Green
Hills Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
