Asheville Butterfly TrailMrs. Proffitt was born in Sevier Co., TN, and was a daughter of the late Bascombe and Charlotte Jarrett Fish. She was also preceded in death by her husband, O.H. Proffitt, a daughter, Lois Wiggins, and a great-grandson Ken Wiggins.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Bull of Asheville and Sue Neal of Houston, TX; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Winebarger officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Dorothy Bull, 31 Beverly Road West, Asheville.
