Marie Murray Candler

Marie Murray Candler, 83, of Asheville, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. A native of Buncombe Co., Marie was a daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Wyatt Murray. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Lewis Candler. Mrs. Candler was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Cathy Candler Netherton (Lynn) and Diane Candler Biggs (Ted); grandchildren, Denice Netherton Helton (Vince), Tony Biggs, and Sherrie Biggs Childers (Anton); great-grandchildren, Kayla, Tristen, Tyler, Nathan, Evey, Jodi, Briar, Byron, Brock, and Kendall; sister, Nancy Skillman and her husband Don Shuman; and lifelong friend, Gloria Roberts (Buddy). Graveside services for Mrs. Candler will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, at Pisgah View Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Carson Moseley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
