MARION E. “BUD” KING Marion Edward “Bud” King, 80, of 81 Fairfax Avenue, Asheville, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mr. King was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Ernest C. and Cora Miller King, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife Faye Miller King who died in 1986 and two brothers, Ernest King, Jr. and Jim King, both of Asheville. Mr. King was a veteran of the 3rd Infantry, US Army during WW II and was a former employee of M.B. Haynes Electric Co. He retired in 1985 from Pike Electric Co. and attended Grace Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Pat Jones of Asheville; one son, Ronnie King of Leicester, three sisters, Barbara Luther, Betty Lister and Virginia Taylor, all of Asheville; four brothers, Bob, Fred and William King of Candler and Jerry King of Cleveland, GA; and two grandchildren, Christy Blankenship of Cary and Travis King of Leicester. A memorial service will be 5:00 PM Friday, July 11, 2003 in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Charles Ballard officiating. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  3. I will always remember my Uncle Bud as the one that fished and hunted. I still remember fishing with him and my Dad. He always had the neatest old cars at his house. I will miss him. He is with my Aunt Fae now and I’m sure he is in good hands. Don
