Marjorie Jenkins Britt, a native of Asheville, NC, departed this earthly life on September 24, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Weldon Jenkins and Inez White Jenkins. Her brothers William Oliver Berry and James Weldon Jenkins preceded her in death. She was the wife of the late James Lloyd "Conley" Britt, Jr., who died in 1993. She was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School class of 1943. Marjorie was a homemaker and a community volunteer. She served on the St. Joseph Hospital Guild board and volunteered over 12, 000 hours. She enjoyed working as a cashier at Rollin Pin Bakery for a number of years before retiring. She was a member of Kenilworth Presbyterian Church and was a past Worthy Matron of Biltmore Chapter#38 Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving to cherish her memory are her three children and their families: son, Jim and wife Phyllis Baumwald Britt of Weaverville, daughter Marcia Britt of Asheville and Marcia's sons, Jared Amos and wife Snow Sherrill of Morganton and Britt Amos of Asheville, and daughter Maria Britt Reagan and husband Bruce Reagan and their children Amanda, Kelly, and Noah of Waxhaw, NC. Visitation will be at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be conducted for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
