Martha Buckner Marler, 83, of Wilson Road, Candler, died Friday, December 25, 1998, in an Asheville health care
center.
Mrs. Marler was born in Madison County, was a daughter of the late Charlie and Betty Price Buckner, and was married
to Perry Daniel Marler, who died in 1966.
She is survived by eight daughters, Jean Ray of Asheville, Lucy Flasher of Black Mountain, Sally Sutton of Marshall,
Laura Hoglen of Candler, Kathy Capehart of Lake Lure, Jane Edmonds of Candler, Susie King of Charlotte and
Margaret Burrell of Asheville; a son, Bobby Marler of Candler; a brother, Noah Buckner of Leicester; 24
grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. G. Scott Lynch officiating.
Burial will be in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshall.
Her family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of
Jean Ray, 1375 Old Leicester Highway.
