MARTHA CAMBY BISHOP Martha Camby Bishop, 81, of 30 Icenhower Road, Leicester, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Memorial Mission Hospital. Mrs. Bishop was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Arthur Burgin and Birdie Dalton Camby. She was also preceded in death by her husband Judge Howard Bishop who died in 1993, a son Robert Herman Camby, a brother Marvin Camby, and a great-grandchild Taron Burrell. She was a former employee of Gerber Corp., and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Group of Trinity. Surviving are two daughters Revonda Jarvis and her husband Randy of Asheville and Ann Sluder and her husband David of Asheville; one son, Jimmy Bishop and his wife Glenda of Leicester; six grandchildren, Michelle McGlothlin, Bryan Bishop, Angela Burrell, David Sluder, Robert Dale Camby and Natalie Loftin; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Arrington and Doris Lee of Fairview, and Betty Medford and Ruby Cassada of Clyde; and one brother Frank Camby of Marion. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue will announce the arrangements.
