Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. When I think of Aunt Marty, I will always remember her sweet encouraging spirit and her big hugs! Love and prayers to Karla, Darrell and the rest of the family.

  2. I had the pleasure of working with Marty at the Times News. She was the sweetest lady, and I always enjoyed hearing her talk about the Lord. My condolences to her family.

  3. Marty was such a a huge part of my life, since her family came to Eden to pastor in 1976. She was gifted musician, who could play the piano, like no other. From our singing group, the Ensemble, to the weddings and funerals she and I did together, came precious times, forever etched in my memory. Most of all, Marty was a trueblue friend and prayer warrior. Even though we hadn’t seen each other in person, for a long time, we still remained connected at the heart. I will miss her phone call so much. Her greeting, most of the time was, hey punkin. Marty was the true definition of the word saint. Heaven is so much sweeter today, but my heart is broken. I have comfort in knowing, I will see her again, soon. Precious memories…..

  4. Debbie Hyatt – aunt Marty was such a blessing and prayer warrior. Loved her so much ❤️❤️

  5. Debbie Hyatt – aunt Marty was such a blessing and prayer warrior. Loved her so much ❤️❤️

  6. Karla & Darrell,

Aunt Marty was a true blessing to my family. She was a true friend. Even though she was related to you more, she always told us that we were her family too. She was always so encouraging and willing to pray for any needs. I recall going to the assisted living facility many times and when I walked in her face lite up and she was so excited to see me. She would clap her hands and say there is my family. Before I left she would ask me how she could pray for me. Even near the end she may not have known my name but she still recognized I was family. I will truly miss my visits with her. I will also miss all her prayers & encouragement. She truly loved her family.

  7. marty as you know our hearts were tied together we will see you soon i know you and mona are singing to the angles and to GOD ALL OUR LOVE

  8. I can’t help but think of all this world has lost when I consider Marty’s passing. I never heard a negative word come from her heart, Never felt a critical spirit from her all the years I’ve known her. Just the thought of Marty speaking the simple words, “How you doing buddy?” brings peace now as it did so many times in the past years. Heaven’s gain is truly this world’s loss. I can honestly say of Marty Henderson, she is one of those of whom this world was not worthy! My love and prayers for the Asheville / Fletcher family.

  9. I had always hoped to be able to meet Marty in person, one day. Sadly, I won’t get the opportunity, this side of Heaven. We had many conversations, on the phone, when she called my wife, Jeannie. Hearing her sweet voice and encouraging words, was such blessing. She was my sister in the Lord and I know she prayed many prayers for us, over the years. I look forward to meeting her in Heaven, someday. My prayers to Karla, Darrell and her church family.
