Robert Marvin Cody, 76, died on Monday, January 14, 2019.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe Co., Marvin was a son of the late McCoy and Marjorie Smith Cody.
Mr. Cody worked for Magnavox Consumer Electronics for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Welborn Cody; brother, Andrew M. Cody, of Charlotte; and numerous other family members across the country.
The graveside service for Mr. Cody will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, at Green Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Cody will lie in state at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. beginning on Thursday morning.

Marvin ,was always so kind and ready with his gentle smile.He spent time with his cousins when we would walk to his house. I am sure all those that had the opportunity to spend time with him will miss his kind heart.
Lorraine, we always remember and appreciate Marvin for his kindness and helpfulness to our parents, Ralph and Gladys, as a friend and neighbor. He was a special and caring person and they loved him dearly. Our prayers are for your comfort and peace.
Lorraine I pray God will give you comfort and peace during this time of your life. I pray all the family can find the same.
