Mary Alice McCulloch Rogers, 86, passed away Monday, May 26 following a brief illness.
Mrs. Rogers was born January 1, 1917, in McDowell County to the late Graham and Lettie McCulloch of Asheville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Rogers, a sister, Bessie Fain, and three brothers, Robert, W.G. (Doug), and Charlie McCulloch.
She was a lifetime member and historian for the Allemanders
Square Dance Team and was a member of the WNC Square Dance Hall of Fame. She was also a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church where she was active with the
Friendship Quilting Club. She was
retired from the American Enka
Corporation.
Surviving Mrs. Rogers are two sisters, Beulah Galloway and
Rachel Hipps, both of Candler; a
brother, Harry McCulloch of Asheville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Oak Hill United
Methodist Church with the Revs. Kim
Higgins and Norman Hubbard
officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her nephews will be pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her square dance team members, including Jerry Biggerstaff,
Leo Fisher, Johnny Shuford, Harold
Spurrier, Roger Shephard, Roy
Walker and Hoyle Grose.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday
at Groce Funeral Home on Patton
Avenue.

Candler, NC 28715.
