Mary D. Duckett

Mrs. Duckett was a daughter of the late Oscar and Nora Mashburn Dobson and had lived in Buncombe County since 1946. She was retired after 40 years service with Southern Bell Telephone and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club and of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel D. Brown in 1993.

She is survived by her husband, Don E. Duckett and by a nephew, Jeff L. Brown and his wife Latisha, of Candler.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Norman Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and request that memorials be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
