Mary Helen Coates Worley, 85, of Asheville died peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Laurels of Summit Ridge.
A native of Madison Co., Mrs. Worley was a daughter of the late Ed and Ollie Reece Coates. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers, Arnon, Magdella, Shelby, Ruby, Herschel, Richard, and Ray Donald.
Mrs. Worley worked as an accountant for Asheville Orthopedic Hospital, and retired after thirty-two years of service. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth; by her sister Wilma and brother E.J.; son Philip and wife Beverly and their daughter, Kimberly and her husband Scott and their children, Lawson and Emily; daughter Dottie and her husband Rick and their children, Jake and Matthew; and several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Worley will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Tunnel Rd. with the Rev. Earl Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to express its deep felt gratitude to the staff of the Laurels at Summit Ridge. Their care and attention to Helen and Ken will always be remembered.

I was so sorry to hear of Helens passing. She was a sweet person. I remember her fondly. I know she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad moment. Take comfort in your memories of her for now and know you will see her again one day.

Kenneth, Phillip, Dottie and families. Annie and I were so sorry of hearing about Helens passing. Its hard to give up our love ones on earth but they are at home with the hevenly father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.
