Asheville Butterfly TrailMrs. Slocomb was born in Swain County and was a daughter of the late Jerman and Naomi Grant McKinnish. She was married to Carl Slocomb who died in July, 1999.
She is survived by a daughter, Pam Bronson of Lyman, SC; three sons, Ron Weatherman of Umatilla, FL, Ken Weatherman of Candler, and Terry Weatherman of Orlando, FL; two step-children, Clyde Slocomb of Umatilla and Gayle Magino of Orlando; a sister, Bobbie Griffin of Candler; a brother, Jack Barnett of Candler; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Wednesday at Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Rusty Rector officiating.
Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
