Mary Delphinia Evans Lindsey, 88, died Friday, February 26, 2016.
Born in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Alice Melissa Hensley Evans, and was also preceded in death by sisters, Edith Buchanan and Hazel Walker and brothers, Carroll, Deane and Bobby Evans. She formerly worked with American Enka Corp.
Surviving her are her son, James E. Ligon; sister, Helen Lowery, brothers, Donald J. Evans and Jerry Eugene Evans, and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Chris Reese at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Enka Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Jimmy, so sorry to hear of Mary’s death. You have our deepest sympathies and our love. Mary is now with all those who have gone on before and more importantly she is with her Lord and Savior whom she served daily.
