Mary Miller Robinson, 89, of Candler, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019.

A native of Buncombe Co., Mary was a daughter of the late Flonzie McDonald Miller and Stella Todd Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Robinson, sisters, Martha Maltry and Sarah Dunn, and brother, A.L. Miller.

Mrs. Robinson was a graduate of Candler High School. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church, and was involved with her husband in church music all of their lives, as an organist and vocalist. She worked with the Buncombe County Extension Service, especially with 4-H groups, setting up competitions and animal shows and programs.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Ball (Michael); son, Rev. Dan Robinson (Kaye); grandchildren, Reagan Reed, Charis Miller (Ramsey), Zach Robinson (Glori), and Seth Robinson; and sister, Dorothy Jennings Roberson of Cleveland, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, at West Asheville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch, Rev. Dr. Dan Robinson, and Rev. Dr. Michael Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

    • Always loved the. Millers Sharon Miller was my best friend growing up spent
      many days at Polly and A.L.Miller’s home. They were all special people. Loved to hear Mary and Bob sing.
      All of them were special.

  2. Several years ago I was teacher in Sunday School where Mary attended. On one particular morning I was having a difficult time , don’t remember why but Mary got up and put her arm around me and said “Ladies we need to pray”and we prayed. I will always remember her sweet spirit. So sorry for your loss.

  5. So sorry to read of Mary’s tragic passing. I saw her last week with her son and talked to her. She looked as beautiful as ever. One thing you will have to say about the Miller women – they always dressed like ladies!! Hugs and prayers to all the family at this sad time.

  6. Your Momma was in SS with my mother-in-law for several years. Lona loved your Momma and they always compared outfits but Lona thought the world of her and your Momma always sent her cards of encouragement. You will be in our prayers.

  9. So hard to believe,——-Mary and i have been friends for sixty years.She never changed,was always the same amazing lady.,We have had some wonderful times together. Our families are like one .God made it possible to for us to spend time together a month ago.It was a real blessing.God is good..My love and prayers to each family member.—–Don and Bob may let Mary and Finette sing a song or two with them.

  13. Miss Mary was a wonderful and gracious lady. She loved the Lord she was a godly woman. I was in class with her she always had a smile and hugs galore she would always said I Love you! Loved her dearly her smile will be missed at WABC. So sorry for your loss.

  14. I am so sorry. Mrs.Mary was was sweet lady. She was always so kind to me.I met her when my children were in 4-H.I saw her a few months ago and she was just as beautiful as she always was. Prayers for the family.

  15. So sorry to hear about Mary we met Mary when she brought her Pink Cadillac to our shop we will miss seeing her she was such a nice lady and always so nice we call her the nice lady in the pink Cadillac.Mary told us the story about her Pink Cadillac she loved it so much.

  16. Deborah and Dan, I am so very sorry about your Mom. Us girls at the salon were very blessed to know her. She was a wonderful prayer warrior. She lifted up my grandson (Dylan) in prayer each week. She knew him personally and they would go with a group after church and have lunch together. That’s how she got to know him.
