Mary Ruth Carver

Asheville - Mary Ruth Greene Carver, 84, died Saturday, January 31, 2004. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Troy F. and Prudence Whistnant Greene, and wife of the late James William Carver, who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Flay Greene and a sister, Betty Knoph. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a former bookkeeper with Bell's Traditionals Clothing Store. She is survived by two sons, William H. Carver of Mooresville, NC and James S. Carver of Johnson City, Tenn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four brothers, Charles Green of Aiken, SC, Ray, Jack and Tom Greene, all of Ellenboro, NC. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Blackburn.
