Mary Virginia Buckner, 79, of Candler, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a local nursing facility.
Miss Buckner was a native of Buncombe COunty and was a daughter of the late Bartlett T. and Emma Lanning Buckner. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry E. Buckner, and a sister, Irene Buckner. She was a retired, self-employed accountant.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ruby Buckner of Asheville and a number of nieces and great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Tweeds Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
