Asheville Butterfly TrailMaurice “Mouse” Leland Calton, 82, of Fletcher, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Feb 22, 2022.
A native of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Robert Raymond and Sue Dotson Calton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Wilkie Calton.
Maurice was a member of Oakley Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Annie Clayton; son, Shannon Calton (and his wife Carrie); brother, Larry Calton; grandchildren, Sydney, Bryce, Shawn and Makayla; good friend, Marilyn Wells and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 5 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden and his family will greet friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hoopers Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Oakley Freewill Baptist Church, P.O. BOX 5694, Asheville NC 28813.
