Michael Eugene Grant, 47, of 129 Ridgedale Road, Candler, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 7, 2004.
Mr. Grant was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Harrison Grant and Arnetta Henson Grant and by a sister, Brenda Jones. He was a graduate of Enka High School and served as a Sergeant with the US Army in Germany and Granada. He worked as an independent carpet installer.
Surviving are his wife, Susan LaTulipe Grant; two daughters, Kimberly MArie Grant and Alicha Virginia Grant and two step-daughters Tristen Coty and Joseph Nyisalosky, all of the home; three sisters, Tina Sherlin, Becky Ducker and Connie Grant, all of Asheville; and two brothers Tommy Grant of Asheville and Tim Grant of Brevard.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert E. Harris officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made directly to the family to assist with the children’s education.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our condolences go out to all of Mike’s family. We feel priveledged to have known Mike for the past 20 years. We have great memories of him and will miss our friend.

I was shocked when I heard about the sudden loss of Mike,especially at such a young age,but you just never know.
I’m sorry I can’t be there at this time for the family.
I would’nt take anything for the Great Memories I have while growing up with Mike.He was a good man who was always willing to help out a
friend in need.He will be sadly missed by those friends.

Mike will be greatly missed. He dearly loved his girls.One of the happiest times I ever saw him he was talking about having a tea party with his little girl. My condolences go to all his family at this time. My prayers are with you all.
