  9. I’m very sorry for your loss. Mr. Stout was not only a great person, but a great teacher. I had the pleasure of making his acquaintance while working at Balcrank Industries. He trained and mentored me until his retirement and I will be forever great full for the experience. I take comfort in knowing that Mr. Stout is in the presence of our heavenly father. May God bless and keep you in this time or sorrow.

  14. Cathie, my dear friend – my heart is at peace knowing full well Mike is in the arms of Jesus as I write this. So why can I not stop weeping when I think of him not here on earth, doing all the many things that he did so, so well. I’m up here in PA with my folks now, so I won’t see you. My prayers will follow you, you dear sweet soul. Be happy, Cath. And remember why.

  16. Ruth and I were so sorry to learn today of Deacon Mike’s passing. When we were new Catholics, and had just become members of St. Barnabas, he was most kind and welcoming. Please be assured of our condolences and prayers for him and for all of his family. Requiescat in pace.

  18. Mrs. Stout, Mary and Darren: I am sorry and stunned that I just learned of Mr. Stout’s passing. I don’t typically read the obits anymore since I have known so many in the past 3 years. My heart aches for all of you. Your family has given me so many fond memories and are such a big part of who I am today. I will never forget playing with Mr. Stout’s CB in his lil’ Toyota truck, getting yelled at for playing with fireworks (thanks Darren lol), his beloved hunting dog, Ginger, his laugh, his kindness and yes even sometimes his eye rolls. There is so much more but…. I hope all of you are well and I hope God gives you strength to help you through. I miss you and love you all more then you know.

  19. Cathie and Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you mourn the loss of such a great man. It was always a pleasure to chat with Mike when he came to South Bend to visit Pat.

  20. To my brother-in-law Mike Stout,
I had the privilege of knowing Mike since he started dating my sister, Cathie. I also had the privilege of giving my sister away at their wedding since my father died in 1962. They were married in 1965. Through the years, at every occasion, Mike always remained the same. Very pleasant, polite, well mannered and had a warm smile. He was always the same. He acted like a big brother to his brother and sisters. He had charisma that ability required for leadership. Because our birthdays were two days apart, we would all celebrate together; Mike, Cathie, Barbie and myself.

Mike is now in heaven with our Lord and Savior. We will all miss him dearly here on earth until we all meet again in heaven.

    Rest In Peace,
    Norman Michaels

  21. Mrs. Stout, Mary & Darren – you all are in my prayers for peace and strength during this difficult time. Growing up in St. Barnabas, I can’t imagine not seeing Mr. Stout’s warm and smiling face there any longer. He was a wonderful, kind, caring person and will be missed by so many!!!
