Mickey Bedingfield George, 96, of Fletcher, passed away August 29, 2021.

A native of Wadley, GA, she was the daughter of the late Reuben Matthew and Jennie Bell Smith Bedingfield. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, John D. George and one brother, Lloyd Ethridge Bedingfield and two nephews, Rick Griner and James Faircloth.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Pam Fox (Jerry) and Debbie Gale (Phil); three nieces whom she loved as daughters, Jennie Griner, Kay Faircloth and the late Diane Faircloth; grandchildren, Jeff Fox, Laura Cline (Jack), Sarah Koudelka (Kevin) and Danny Gale and great-grandchildren, Michael Fox, Tyler Crain, Brielle Gale, Taylor May Koudelka and Jackson Koudelka.

Mickey met her love, a Navy man at a USO dance, and they were blessed to continue their dance for 52 years. Her infectious laugh was one that brought joy to your soul. She loved going to church, animals, growing beautiful flowers in her garden, her friends and cherished her family.

Due to COVID, a private Memorial Service will be held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, supporting America’s veterans (www.garysinisefoundation.org)

    I just read about Mickey’s passing. I was one of Jennie’s medicine nurses at Aston Park HCC many years ago & that is how I knew Mickey. You have my condolences as It is always hard to give up a parent. I lost my mother 6 years ago & it seems like it was just yesterday. Cherish your memories. Againmy deepest sympathy.
