Mildred Reed Johnson

Mildred Marie Reed Johnson, 75, of Dillingham Road, Barnardsville, died Thursday, December 6, 2001, at her home. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Carl Edward and Nellie McFalls Reed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund McCoy Johnson, who died in 1994. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Meggett, SC. Survivors include three daughters, Lee Ann Davis of Barnardsville, Evelyn Buckner of Asheville and Crystal Marie Tallent of Asheville; a son, Douglas McArthur Reed of Adams Run, SC; a brother, James H. Reed of Leicester; five grandchildren, Angela Smith of Walterboro, SC, Chester R. Davis, William A. Murphy, Jacob Daniel Murphy and Brian Keith Murphy, all of Asheville and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Sonya Burleson officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
