Mona Jean Weigle

Mona Jean Long Weigle, 87, of Asheville, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015, at her residence. Born in Henry Co., OH, to the late George and Helen Hartley Long, she was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and worked at hospitals in New York State and Pennsylvania. Mrs. Weigle also served as evening supervisor at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. She was a member of East Asheville United Methodist Church. Surviving is her husband of 66 years, Robert E. Weigle, and a son, Geoffrey Weigle and his wife, Lucinda, of Ellicott City, MD. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Annalee Allen will officiate.
