Neal Clark Lipe, Sr.

Neal Clark Lipe, Sr., 75, of Fletcher, died on October 13, 2006 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late James Cornelius and Monnie Warren Lipe. He was also preceded in death by a son, Neal Clark Lipe, Jr., who died in 1986. Mr. Lipe was a retired electrician and former business manager of Local Union #238 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He also served his country in the US Air Force and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Neal is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jo Fisher Lipe; one daughter, Mona Cornwell and her husband David of Fletcher; one sister, Patricia Schneble of Asheville and two grandsons, Charles Neal and Graham Clark Cornwell, both of Fletcher. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, October 15 at Lewis Memorial Park with the Rev. Christy Matlick officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, The Least of These Ministries, Montreat Presbyterian Church, PO Box 279, Montreat, NC 28757 or to a charity of one’s choice. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
