Nellie Medford Warren, 89, of 756 Upper Glady Fork Road, Candler, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the home of her daughter, Betty Crowder.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Greeley and Mary Medford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mark M. Warren in 1970 and a grandson, Robert Crowder, in 1972. She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Crowder and JoAnn Gipe of Candler; a brother, Clay Medford of Candler; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at White Rock Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg L. Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to White Rock Baptist Church, PO Box 1277, Candler, NC 28715.
