Asheville ~ Nimet Umit Arkan, 82, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 in a local nursing home.
A native of Tarsus, Turkey, Mrs. Arkan was the daughter of the late Esma and Ahmet Arkan and wife of the late Jack Brookshire, who died in 1971.
Survivors include two daughters, Atlas Fox of Fletcher and Ayla Warren of Port Charlotte, FL; a son, Ahmet Atilla Vural of Mersin, Turkey; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be conducted Thursday.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

I took care of nimet for almost two years at the nursing home she was at we all loved her very much we miss her so much her family was the most caring people we loved them all very much we love you guys god bless you all
