Asheville – Norma Faye Pulliam, 84, went on to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 12, 2006.
Norma was born August 19, 1921, in Burnsville, NC to Jeter Pritchard McMahan and Faye Missimer McMahan and lived all her life in Buncombe County.
At the age of 12, Norma became a Christian and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church for 72 years, where she was very active in the Lord’s work.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, John Thomas Spake, and his wife Billie Joyce Spake, Winston Walden “Rusty” Pulliam, Jr. and her former husband Winston W. Pulliam. Also surviving are stepson Larry Pulliam, and his wife Rebecca Pulliam; three grandsons, John David Spake, and his wife Holli T. Spake, Dustin and Parker Pulliam; granddaughter, Ava Elizabeth Pulliam and great grandson, Walden Alexander Spake. In addition, Norma is survived by three sisters, Kitty M. Wilson, Judy M. Sanders and Sarah M. Hall; a very special niece, Dot Towe, along with several other nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 15th in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Revs. James Walker, Ian Walker and Joe Fulk. Interment will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
Pallbearers will be Roy Wilson, Bill Towe, Gary Johnson, Therlow Lanning, J.C. Lanning and Joe Lapak.
Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.

Rusty: I was so sorry to hear about your mother Norma. Sam and I went to visit her grave on Easter Sunday after church. The flowers were incredible. I know that God welcomed her with open arms in heaven and that she will be watching over you until you see each other again in heaven.
