Norman Jay Huntley Jr, 73, of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
A native and lifelong resident of Fairview, he was the son of the late Norman Jay Huntley Sr. and Wilma Reed Huntley. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Huntley Hughes and infant, Margaret Frances Huntley.
Jay was a proud and accomplished tool and die maker, working for over 40+ years in the field before retiring from Western Carolina Tool & Mold. He trained countless other tool and die makers during his career. He was very proud of his Fairview heritage, which he spent a great deal of time researching following his retirement. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed time spent at his mountain cabin. Jay treasured time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandson, Ashton, who he was very proud of.
He is survived by his son, Norman Tyler Huntley (Sarah Lorenz); grandson, Ashton Tyler Huntley; sister, Dianne Huntley Lance; several nieces and nephews and Travis Sexton, who he considered a son.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hoopers Creek Cemetery. His family will greet friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
