Patricia Anne (Harvard) Godbold, 77, of Asheville, died unexpectedly Monday, November 4, 2019, at Mission Hospital.

Born in Montgomery, AL, she was the wife of Dr. Ronald Lee Godbold, of Asheville. She was the daughter of Mary Monaree (Weaver) Harvard, resident of Limestone, TN, and the late Thomas Earl Harvard, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Marla Hassell.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Brannon Godbold, of Fletcher and Dr. Colby Colasacco and her husband, Robert, of Weaverville; her “adopted” daughter, Laura Dominkovic, of Croatia; a granddaughter, Ariana Holloway; a brother, Thomas Harvard; and two sisters, Carole Hamilton and Della Harvard.

She was a member of Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville, where she met her lifelong friends, the Unicorns.

Patricia was dedicated to improving the community through her volunteer work with many organizations including the BCMS Auxiliary, Health Adventure, Children’s Welfare League, Guardian Ad Litem, and Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed many activities including book of the month club, Mexican trains, Park Avenue POA and investment club. She was a master planner and organizer, a generous friend and an adventurous traveler through life – always known for her kindness and beautiful smile.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15th, 2019 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia’s memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 146 Victoria Rd., Asheville, NC 28801 or to Children’s Welfare League (“Support Our Students”) online at www.cwl-asheville.ejoinme.org.

      For a pearson like you heaven is secure destination. You have thought me when I was just a young lad that goodness in the heart is contageous disease and it is worth the risk because it always come back. You also told me that I don’t need to give you back anything that you gave me, but that I give to everyone else who need something.     I am grieved to know that Pat is gone. I have known Pat since 1970. She was fun, thoughtful and a joy to be around. Although I haven’t been able to see you for several years nevertheless I consider you all dear friends and my heart goes out to you.
