Arden, NC ~ Patricia Guest Lee a resident of Ardenwoods, age 85, died at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville on October, 25, 2009.
She was born in French Lick, Indiana, a daughter of Fred and Emma Kibler, graduated from Indiana University and received a masters degree at Northern Illinois University. She enthusiastically taught school for twenty-five years, twenty-one of which were for School District 41 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by former husbands William Diedrich and Gordon Guest. Thomas J. Lee, her husband and friend from childhood as they grew up in Bedford, Indiana, survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Deborah Diedrich and her husband Bill Woolum of Eugene, Oregon; two sons Brian Diedrich and his wife Diane of Western Springs, Illinois and David Diedrich and his wife Mary Lou of Arlington Heights, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Adrienne, Patrick, Ben, Molly, Danielle, Billy Samantha and Allison; and one great granddaughter Olivia. Two sisters Fredrica Frank of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Emily Wood of Lutz, Florida and three nieces and two nephews also survive.
After moving to Hendersonville in 1988 she enjoyed her association with Etowah Valley Country Club and participation in Life Long Learning, Single Women's Club and the Blue Ridge Literacy Council's Tutoring program. After marrying Tom in 2000, she enjoyed their life at the Oaks in Hendersonville and at the Ardenwoods retirement community in Arden and enriched each community with her personality and talents. During that time she grew in Christian faith at the First Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, of which she was a member, and at Faith Fellowship at Ardenwoods.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.

Vi: Pat & I were widows together & we played bridge & went out to dinners for our social life. Also played golf with her at Etowah. Lots of fun memories. Milt & Vi: Milt met her at her 70th birthday at her house. She had a great party. We helped Tom & Pat move into the Oaks.She was a beutiful & lovely lady. She will be missed. Thank you Tom for taking such good care of her & making the past nine years so wonderful for her.
To Tom and the family of Pat , my sincere condolences .While I never had the honor of meeting Pat , she must have been wonderful to be a part of my good friends life . My prayers are with her and all of you .
My condolences to Pat’s surviving husband and her children. I haven’t seen Pat in over 15 years but always remember how happy she was with Gordy.
I’m sure she is missed.
