Patricia Sue Dignan Wood

Patricia Sue Dignan Wood, 81, of Leicester, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Tulsa, OK, Patricia was a daughter of the late Patrick and Lucille Roberts Dignan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Wood; son, Greg Wood and his wife, Teresa Green Wood; and brother, Melvin Bumgarner. Mrs. Wood is remembered fondly for her creativity. She enjoyed painting, embroidering, crocheting and then presenting her crafts at local fairs. She was a member of the Uphill Ski club. She also invested much of her time in genealogy and bird watching. Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughters, Renaye Owen, Gayla Wood, and Linda Lowther; sister, Mary Wakefield and husband Jack; brother, Patrick Henry; grandchildren, Trina Abee, Tauny Knight, and Robert Owen, III; great-grandchildren, Josh Lowther, Jake Johnson, Logan Kramer, Robbie Owen, Tristan Abee, Sierra Jordan, Breezie Abee, and Jordan Knight; and great-great-grandchildren, Faith Johnson and Callie Owen. A memorial service for Mrs. Wood will be held at a later date. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
