  17. To Patrick’s friends and family: My brother, Jim and I attended school with Patrick and remained friends over the years. Jim was closer since he stayed in Asheville. I only saw Patrick occasionally when visiting my home town, but always enjoyed reminiscing with him. I remember Patrick as a kind man, soft spoken, easy going and having such a wonderful appreciation for the simpler things in life. I admire him for that. Jim and I will certainly miss him along with anyone that happened to have the privilege of knowing him. God has been good to bless us with Patrick’s friendship. May He also bless and comfort you during this time of sadness.
