Paul Jimmie Clontz, Sr., 81, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

A native of Haywood Co., Paul was a son of the late Rufus and Lizzie Gibson Clontz. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Caldwell Clontz.

Surviving are his daughter, Becky Lindsey (Tommy); sons, Jimmie Clontz and Matthew Clontz (Kim); grandchildren, Andi Case (Bryan), Luke Clontz, Jacob Clontz, and Zack Clontz; and great-granddaughter, Khloe Clontz.

Funeral services for Mr. Clontz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

  8. To our loving friend that’s gone on ahead of us~ we will surely miss you Paul, like we’ve missed Pat, but Heaven’s sounding sweeter all the time because of friends like you. So glad we were neighbors (wouldn’t take nothing for those good ole’ days) and friends. You and Pat had such a kindness about you, and we will never forget you both.   9. So thankful for the wonderful neighbor and friend Paul & Pat were to us up in Cowan Cove. I will never forget those precious memories. So thankful we remained friends throughout their entire lives. To know them was to love them. So glad Heaven is waiting!! See you both again, SOON! ♥️
