Pauline Evans

Pauline Evans, 89, entered into Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Mrs. Evans was born on April 26, 1928 in Leicester, North Carolina to the late Bluford and Lottie King Surrett. She was a loving and devoted homemaker. Family was her highest priority. Mrs. Evans was a strong family leader and a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a member of Jones Valley Baptist Church in Leicester, North Carolina. Mrs. Evans enjoyed cooking and listening to music, however her greatest joy was found in time spent with her beloved family. Her first husband, Joseph O. Green and second husband, James W. Evans, son, Jerry Green, and siblings, Bruce Surrett and Louise Ball, preceded her in death. Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Charles Green of Alvarado, Texas; brother, Bobby Surrett; 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. Mrs. Evans will be laid to rest in a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Paynes Chapel Cemetery in Leicester, North Carolina.
