Pauline Reeves Duckett, 88, of 10085 Highway 63, Leicester, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Duckett was born in Madison County and was the daughter of the late Tom and Bertha Teague Reeves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall O. Duckett, who died June 18, 2005, an infant brother, Glenn Reeves, and a grandson, Chris Ramsey. Mrs. Duckett was a caregiver to her family and was an avid gardener with both flowers and vegetables. She was a member of Little Sandy United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Wylma Jean D. King and her husband, E.J., of Weaverville and Argylle Lee D. Woike and her husband, Leonard, of Pickens, SC; one son, Michael Kevin Duckett and his wife, Myrna, of Leicester; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Little Sandy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Hardin and Mr. Eddie King officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Leicester Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 100, Leicester, NC 28748, or to Little Sandy Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Venita Reeves, 8679 NC Highway 63, Leicester, NC 28748.

    I remember Ms Pauline’s gardening and how beautiful and bountiful it was. I remember she always wrote a special warm message in her Christmas cards that made you smile when reading them.
