Peggy Faye Allen

Peggy F. Allen (Waller), 77, of Asheville, NC, passed away on April 20th, 2014, after a long illness fighting the effects of breast and bone cancer. She received care at St. Joseph's in Asheville, NC. She was born Jan. 2, 1937 in Alvarado, Texas and spent her early years growing up in the Arlington/Ft. Worth area. She was the daughter of the late Ora and Pauline Waller of Handley, TX. She graduated from Handley High School in 1955 where she was named Homecoming Queen her senior year. She married her husband Art on Sept. 4th, 1955 and they began their life together, a journey that would last for over 50 years. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Arthur C. Allen, brother Bobby Allen of Houston, and her eldest son Ted H. Allen of Buford, GA. She is survived by her son Gary Allen (wife, Beverly, daughter Kerri) of Wilmington, NC and daughter Julee Gittemeier (son, Haydn) of Asheville, NC and grandchildren Brody and Tyler Allen of Buford, GA. Peggy was cremated by Groce Funeral Homes of Asheville, NC. Her cremated remains will be united with her late husband's ashes and returned to the winds of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
