Peggy Pembroke Duckett

Peggy Ann Pembroke Duckett, 72, of 108 Olney Road, Asheville, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Duckett was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late James B. and Lillie Mae Russell Pembroke. She was married to Allen L. Duckett who died in 1980. Mrs. Duckett retired as Deputy Registrar of Vital Records after 34 years with the Buncombe County Health Department. She is survived by a brother, Lawrence Thomas “Jim” Pembroke of Asheville; two nieces, Lisa P. Hall and her husband Billy of Santee, SC and Lynn P. Hale of Annapolis, MD; a great-niece and great-nephew, Jessica and Justin Hale; her dear friend and sister by choice, Peggy Willett and her daughter, Mrs. Duckett’s special niece, Leah Brown. The funeral service will be at 2:00 Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Chaplain Jane Curran officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and suggest that memorials be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
