Ralph White, 80, of Asheville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
He was born in Buncombe County and was the son of the late Pink White and Lillie Sharpe White. He retired from Beacon Manufacturing in 1993 after 26 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty White. They had three sons, Roger White, Ralph Douglas White and Steve White and one daughter, Rebecca Wright. Ralph was an avid sportsman and liked to hike the mountains.
He is survived by his wife Retha Blanton White; three brothers, Pink V. White, Jr., Arlon White, Harvey White and three sisters, Margaret Wells, Lillian Peterman, Elsie Johnson White; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home East Asheville on Tunnel Road with Rev. Randy Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
