Randy Graves, 63, of 1129 South Turkey Creek Road, Leicester, died Monday, March 9, 2009.
Mr. Graves was born in Brunswick, GA, and was a son of Louise Johnson Graves of Leicester and the late John Graves. He served as a crash firefighter with the US Air Force. He was the founder, owner, and broker in charge of Smoky Mountains Realty.
Mr. Graves had lived in the Leicester community for 34 years was a member of Biltmore Masonic Lodge and Newfound Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board. He also served with the Savannah, GA Fire Department for four years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Greta Cook Graves; two sons, Lance Graves and wife, Valerie, of Leicester and Andy Graves and wife, Rachel, of Alexander; three grandchildren, Mattie Graves, Jessica Graves and Dalton Graves; one sister, Kathy Bleckley and husband, Glenn, of Candler, and his dear friends, Bob Goodwin of Leicester and Jimmy Hieronymus of Savannah.
The funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Newfound Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Phillips, Mark Ball and Ricky Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Max Parham, Mike Ingle, Frank Cook, Andrew Helton, Bobby Nelon and Julian Carver.
The family will receive friends Thursday at the church from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements.

a blessing to me. I always enjoyed our conversations, he was so grateful to have you as a wife and grateful for God sparing your life. I told Alita it seems we now have more friends on the other side than here.

DEAR Lance and family.I’m so sorry for you great loss. I did not know your dad but I heard you speak of him as a loving son.
